STEMSpring Academy is a 501(c)(3) independent private school designed to deliver an exceptional, STEM-driven and literacy-rich learning experience for scholars in grades K–5. Founded by Dr. Sala Sims (CEO & Founding Principal) and Brian Sims (COO & Founding Director of Operations), STEMSpring Academy pairs high-quality K-5 learning experiences with proven instructional and operational leadership. The academy was born out of both professional expertise and lived parenting experience. Having cultivated hands-on science and foundational literacy at home with their own children, who are now excelling in collegiate chemistry and engineering majors, they founded STEMSpring Academy to bring that same transformative early STEM exposure to every scholar.

We believe true scientific fluency starts with strong literacy. Throughout her journey as an elementary educator, principal, leadership coach, and school transformation expert, Dr. Sims observed firsthand how young minds ignite when foundational reading, comprehension, and hands-on STEM discovery fuel each other. That conviction is deeply rooted in her doctoral research in Early Childhood Leadership and her legacy as a former National Board Certified Teacher and Illinois Master Teacher. As CEO, Sala drives the academic vision, community partnerships, and long-term network growth of STEMSpring Academy.

Together, our team built STEMSpring Academy on a singular promise: to nurture joyful learners, curious thinkers, and confident young problem-solvers who thrive in elementary school and beyond.
